Welcome! 

We're a free and friendly group of kayakers generally based in the Southern Puget Sound area.  Unlike many kayak groups out there, WE GO KAYAKING!  We have a paddle scheduled every weekend throughout the year.  We also make it a point to have paddles for all skill levels, including beginners.

The best way to learn to kayak is to go kayaking.  While reading and researching on the internet is also helpful, there is no replacement for time spent in your kayak.  You will be amazed how quickly your skills will improve.

To join SSAK, just meet us at a launch 30 minutes before the scheduled paddle beginning, sign a release, and go paddling!
